COVID-19 PROTOCOL. Updated 3/11/2020

As established in the DECREE law 17/2020, of October 29, on extraordinary measures in tourism to face the effects of the health and economic crisis produced by the pandemic caused by COVID-19, published in the official gazette of the Canary Islands, since 14/11/2020 and in order to preserve the low epidemiological incidence of the archipelago and guarantee the sustainability of tourist activity, the following measures come into force:

All visitors over the age of six who are not arriving from Canary Islands must present a certificate that is officially recognised by the healthcare authorities to show that they have tested negative for active COVID-19 infection in the past 72 hours.

This certificate will be required to check in this and any other tourist accommodation in the islands. You may show a digital or hard copy of it and it must contain the date and time the test was taken, the identity of the individual taking it, the laboratory responsible for verification and the nature of the aboratory, and the negative result.

This certificate will not be required for non-residents who show proof (in the form of a travel document) that they have been in Canary Islands territory for the 15 days prior to the date they are checking into this tourist accommodation and that they have not had any symptoms of COVID-19 during that time.

Canary Islands residents must show proof that they are such and declare, under their own responsibility, that they have not left Canary Islands in the 15 days prior to arriving at this establishment and that they have not had any symptoms of COVID-19 during that time.

This tourist accommodation will deny entry to anyone who does not comply with the above conditions. As an exception, if you state that you are willing to take a diagnostic test, we will provide you with details of the nearest authorised centre and we will allow you to enter and stay for the minimum time required to get your results. You will not be able to leave your accommodation unit until the results are received.

We recommend downloading and keeping the RADAR COVID contagion notification app enabled on your mobile during your stay in the islands and for the 15 days immediately following your return to your place of origin.

Cancellation policy
With the intention of offering flexibility to our clients, reservations made on our website may be canceled or modified without any charge, as long as they are notified at least 48 hours before. Any modification is subject to the availability of the complex and variations in rates depending on the dates of the new reservation.

Information on the COVID-19 prevention and action protocol
Apartamentos Celeste has been working towards the creation of a complete action protocol that will serve as a guide for our tourist complex in its reopening. We have especially focused on the work of each of our departments to offer the maximum guarantees of security to guests and employees. Reception, Apartments (cleaning), Merchandise Reception, SAT (Technical Services), Personnel Areas, among others, are the departments that from this moment will apply the new measures in their daily work to face the reopening in a global way, which fully serves the complex and its different areas.

This protocol has been carried out by the professionals of Apartamentos Celeste in collaboration with the company Previs, a consultancy firm specializing in advice, auditing and training in health and safety in the tourism industry, which has the ISO 9001 seal in Quality Management Systems, with the that offers concrete solutions for our complex and its different areas.

An essential part of this protocol will be the training of employees to ensure that everyone knows the information to know how to act in each of the tasks they face in their workplace. Monitoring of employees, verifying that they only go to work in optimal health conditions, will also be an essential part of the success of this plan, as well as that no employee belonging to a risk group faces delicate tasks, such as cleaning of elements or areas with suspected cases of COVID-19.

Measures at Reception
The protocol comprehensively details the new measures including:
A hydroalcoholic gel dispenser, occupancy limitation, the installation of screens at the reception, the safety distance between customers, the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) among employees, disinfection of their posts and work utensils after every day.

Apartments and Cleaning
For their part, the staff will maintain the protocol to avoid cross contamination in the cleaning of the apartments, which is the result of the experience of more than 30 years within the hotel sector. The use of proven efficacy viricidal products is introduced and the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for all personnel is added. In addition, the daily reinforcement of disinfection of elements of habitual manipulation like control of the television, telephone, handles, doors or curtains is imposed; while nebulization of the virucidal product is added to all surfaces in departure rooms, which will maintain the safety time recommended by the product manufacturer between cleaning and assignment to the new host.

A “disinfection team” is also created that will be specialized in cleaning the apartments occupied by confirmed or suspected cases of coronavirus. In the event that potential patients cannot be transferred to a hospital, a specific area of ??the complex is reserved with strict allocation and occupation measures, as well as cleaning.

Pools and Technical Services
Sunbeds and umbrellas will be spaced in the pools. The frequency of cleaning and disinfection of swimming pool areas will be reinforced, and water disinfection products suitable for the current situation will be used; Individual protection measures are also taken care of with the use of masks and gloves by the staff.

The maintenance staff also has among their functions to ensure the correct operation, as well as the disinfection and monitoring of the rest of the equipment, while the work tools will be disinfected after each use.
